Our last post talked about 2nd Friday where you can peruse artwork to your heart’s delight. Today, we’re like to introduce you to another great way to enjoy the downtown area. So, after a day of speeding around Lake Coeur d’Alene on a wake surf boat, what better way to enjoy the Coeur d’Alene vibe than to wander Downtown and taste Mac and Cheese?! We’re talking about the Annual Festival that the Coeur d’Alene Downtown Association puts on.

For 2021, the festival is scheduled for April 16th and 17th. It celebrates a favorite childhood meal by bringing local chefs together to present variations of Mac and Cheese while the chefs compete for the Golden Noodle Award!
As an attendee, you can delight in tasting the variations of this cheesy, comfort-food dish—and if you’re old enough, enjoying craft beer pairings—and then you get to vote for your favorite rendition. At the end, they’ll announce the People’s Choice Trophy!
Just a heads up, the event requires walking short distances outdoors to get between each venue but all sites are ADA accessible.
Festival Ticket Information:
- KIDDIE MAC – $10 (children 12 years & under) this includes 4 Tasters
- MAC PACK – $25 for 6 Tasters
- MAC & BEER – $35 (21+) which includes 8 (4 oz.) Beer Tastings, 6 Tasters, and a Commemorative Pint Glass
- VIP EXPERIENCE – $75 (21+). This includes access to the VIP Lounge which offers unlimited tasters of exclusively made gourmet Mac & Cheese, access to private lounge with tables and seating, priority check-in, free parking, 6 tasting tickets for Mac in general areas, 8 (4 oz.) beer tastings in the VIP Lounge for premium craft beers or in the general areas, and a commemorative pint glass. (Wow, that’s a mouth full!)
(With Covid, the number of tickets are restricted right now. If for some reason the event can’t happen, all tickets will be refunded in full.
