Even at this time of year, we try to find activities that include water, even if it’s the frozen kind. So in previous posts we’ve highlighted where you can go skiing or enjoy an indoor water park. Today, we’d like to introduce you to another fantastic option that’s just as family friendly. Sleigh Rides!
There are two ranches in the Coeur d’Alene area that offer great sleigh rides (that we know of, there may be more)
The first one is the Western Pleasure Guest Ranch. This is a dude ranch that offers horseback riding along with its sleigh rides. The half-hour ride wanders a two mile loop through the dense forests of the Cabinet Mountains and gives the opportunity to view (photos, anyone?) the Selkirk Mountain Range.
They offer a variety of sleighs and payments depending on your group size. You can check all the details out on the Western Pleasure Guest Ranch website.
The second place we know of for sleigh rides is the Stillwater Ranch located in Sagle, ID. (Only about an hour’s drive from CDA, which is slightly shorter than the hour and a half to reach Western Pleasure). In the winter, they transform their wagon into a sleigh and offer rides that include lots of blankets and hot cocoa. Yum!
