(Photo of Q’emiln Park from postfallsidaho.org) There are a ton of great picnic places around the Inland Northwest. Let me highlight just one for you that’s not far from Coeur d’Alene and that features some water activities for those of us who love water.

Q’emiln Park in Post Falls (Pronounced “ka-mee-lin”)

(Located at 12201 W. Parkway Drive)  Q’emiln park is located at the end of the Spokane Street Bridge south of the Spokane River. It’s 78.5-acres that offers all sorts of activities for the family. To name a few, there’s a swimming beach with a seasonal lifeguard, a boat launch, BBQ pits for hotdogs and hamburgers, picnic shelters, horseshoe pits, and volleyball courts along with a playground. There’s something for the whole family! In case you just want a snack, there’s also a concession stand. Restrooms are available too and there’s access to the Post Falls Community Forest and the Q’emiln Climbing Walls. Or if you’re interested in a planned event, there are 2 small covered shelters (a gazebo & a picnic shelter), a large covered Grand Pavilion, and a grassy area along with the Trailhead Event Center that are available for reservation. (Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed).
