One of the best things about living in a small-ish community is that people tend to come up with some of the most entertaining ways to have fun. We usually focus on water-related events, for obvious reasons involving boat rentals and such, but there are a plethora of other, land-based options too. For instance, check out Timber Days in Priest River, ID.

What is Timber Days?

This is a traditional event put on by the Priest River Chamber of Commerce that celebrates the logging heritage of the area. Participants can choose from playing in corn hole tournaments, to watching car shows, to racing lawnmowers. You heard that right. You can race a lawnmower if you’d like at Timber Days.

This celebration draws over 2000 people with its 50-plus vendors and family-friendly activities.

This year the event starts on the evening of July 29th and runs through Saturday the 30th.  You can enjoy craft food and beer while watching logging competitions or a parade.
