I have no idea how we’ve missed talking about Independence Point before! I mean, it’s right on the shore of Lake Coeur d’Alene and there are water activities. This is a serious oversight for this boat rental company! Let’s remedy it!

Independence Point on Lake Coeur d’Alene

This is a great family option if you’re hoping not to drive too far for a fun weekend!

Location: The park is 4 whole acres open to the sun and the water. It’s located just west of the downtown CDA area and is right next to the City Park off of 105 Northwest Boulevard. If you’re coming from I-90, getting there is simple. Take NW Boulevard south to the downtown area and then turn right at Lakeside Drive. This’ll bring you right in to the parking lot. If you’re familiar with the area or are staying at the Coeur d’Alene Resort, it’s also nearby.

Activities: This is the best part. There’s a beach with a swim area along with benches and water features for those wanting to play in the water and maybe bring a picnic along. And for those wanting something out on the actual lake, there are tour boats, seaplanes, and parasailing options! Other than maybe getting a CDA boat rental and spending the day on the lake away from people, it doesn’t get better than that!

Check out the cdaid.org page for more details on Independence Point. Or, if you’d rather talk to a person, you can call the City of Coeur d’Alene at the below number and ask directly. They’re super nice people, promise.
