So many lakes to choose from! It’s awesome!

Now let’s look at another fantastic lake that might just be the perfect place for your next boating escape.

Lake Pend Orielle…with the city of Sandpoint on its northern edge and the town of Bayview on its southern edge, this lake truly does offer a plethora of opportunities for fun and adventure in northern Idaho.

The Lake Itself

Lake Pend Orielle is Idaho’s largest lake and one of the deepest inland lakes in North America. We’re talking 144 miles of freshwater shoreline and a measured depth of over 1,170 feet.

This equals a variety of fish for those hoping to catch kokanee salmon, Kamloops, rainbow, brook, brown or hybrid trout.

And for those looking for sailing, jetskiiing, paddle boarding, or waterskiing, Lake Pend Orielle has the space to enjoy any of these activities at the same time as you’re surrounded by fantastic mountain views. You can catch glimpses of Selkirk, Cabinet and Coeur d’Alene Mountains while sitting on the lovely waves.

And since the lake has more than a dozen public boat launches, you can even pick what part of the lake you want Lake Escapes to drop your boat off at.

Activities:

Other than the activities you can partake in on the lake, both Sandpoint and Bayview offer activities year round. Not to mention the ski resort, Schweitzer, that sits just north of the lake. http://www.schweitzer.com

For example, from May 14th through the 17th, Sandpoint is hosting their Lost in the 50’s car show. It promises to be Sandpoint’s biggest party of the year.

(You can check out Visit Sandpoint for their visitor’s guide and a list of this year’s activities.)

Now we wish you dreams involving the sway of a boat and the smell of summer on the water. There’s nothing like it.
