Lake Coeur d’Alene is, of course, part of the Idaho town of Coeur d’Alene. However, the lake’s a big place and along its beautiful shores is also a little, friendly place by the name of Harrison.

Now this place, even with its small size, has a lot to offer. We’re talking, besides the boating and fishing and swimming, there’s also cycling, and sightseeing and, sometimes, live music and dancing on summer nights and holidays.

One of the great parts about the boating in the Harrison area is that there are several public boat launches, a sandy beach with picnic tables, and a wading and swimming area at the marina.

Here’s a quick list of the Public Boat Launches in Kootenia County:

Black Lake Boat Launch

Carlin Bay Boat Launch

Harlow Point

Harrison Docks and Boat Launch

Neachen Bay

Sunup Bay

Turner Bay

There’re also several good places to eat; One Shot Charlie’s and The Gateway Marina Bar and Grill to name a few. We’ll look more in depth at those in the weeks to come but for now, check out Harrison ID as perhaps your next vacation boating destination. It’s a good place to get away from the bustle and to enjoy the beauty of Idaho with convenient amenities for vacation.
